LG’s reported slim slider phone with a whopping 8 Megapixel camera has arrived. Thursday LG unveiled the KC780, a dazzling phone and camera that is sure to turn heads.
The Camera on board is a Schneider-Kreuznach lens, which is said to enhance the clarity and sharpness of the images it captures. With it’s advanced face and smile detection features, it automatically focuses on the people’s faces in the images. If that doesn’t impress you, “the camera can also be configured to fire when a subject smiles, while a Beauty Mode removes subtle blemishes from a subject’s face.” (more…)
The BlackBerry Storm is RIM’s long awaited answer to Apple’s iPhone. It is a touchscreen smartphone, and it is RIM’s first venture into the touchscreen market. Apple has already released their second generation iPhone while RIM and other major handset makers like Nokia are barely getting their feet wet with touchscreen devices.
That puts some pressure on this BlackBerry to perform up to par with the existing touchscreen phones on the market, especially considering that RIM still has a substantial share of the smartphone market.
From what I have seen so far, it seems like this phone could be quite a contender. The phone features a 3.2″ tactile-feedback touchscreen that sends subtle signals to your finger to let you know that it has received your input.
It has built in GPS navigation and a 3.2 Megapixel camera with video recording capabilities.
It also comes with some useful apps pre-installed including AIM and Facebook. (more…)

The iPhone is already in its second generation and Apple is now ranked in 3rd place in the smartphone market while Nokia hasn’t even made a competing phone. Well all of that is due to change as Nokia is set to release the touchscreen Nokia 5800 XpressMusic phone. The phone could be released as soon as October 2nd of this year.
It has some strong features to pit against the Apple iPhone including a 640×360 display and a 3.2 Megapixel camera with video capability, both of which are better than whats available on the iPhone 3G. The 5800 will also include 3G, GPS and WiFi. (more…)

Joshua Topolsky got his hands on the G1 and posted quite a few pictures. Enjoy. (more…)

Alright, it won’t technically be called the gPhone, but for all it’s worth, this is the first iteration of Andriod that will be available on a handset available to the general public. The phone is the HTC Dream, and it comes loaded with Google’s Open Mobile OS, named Andriod.
Both the handset and the OS were given FCC approval last month. Sprint is set to debut the phone and OS at it’s launch in nearly a week, on the 23rd of September. Expect pricing and availability information to follow. (more…)
How many of you have complained about the pitiful number of USB ports there are on a computer? I myself have used up all of the ports plus a powered hub and still I need more. Well RiTEK hears your pain, and they have come up with a great solution. Take a look at the Yego USB Flash Drive. That’s right, a flash drive that acts as a mini hub for more devices. Now that pesky problem of where to plug the old flash drives is solved!
But there’s more to the Yego than a splitter! This flash drive can lock it’s ports and only let in the person with the right password. This is not file by file, it’s the entire flash drive encoded with a password. (more…)

Looking like something made out of PVC piping, the new USB speakers from LaCie are still worth your inspection. Regardless of appearance, these are high quality digital audio speakers. They have 16-bit signal processing and a frequency range of 90Hz - 20kHz. They deliver two watts of total power, with 1 watt per channel. They’re also compact and hassle free with the USB cable fitting nicely in to the base of each speaker.
For once when we say hassle free, we actually mean hassle free! No drivers needed for these guys. Truly plug and play for both Mac and PC. (more…)
