Aiptek Launches Nano-Sized Multimedia Projector

Just when I thought the previous projector was small enough, Aiptek unveils another pocket-size media player projector named PocketCinema V10.

It is roughly the same size as the 2nd generation iPod Nano, but it can project a 50-inch image on a flat surface. The secret sauce is 3M’s revolutionary mini projection technology.

The interesting feature is that you can display content from mobile phones, an iPod, a Wii, or any device with video playback capabilities. Connect it using the 3-in-1 AV jack, and enjoy the big picture anywhere. You can also playback videos and show photos stored in its 1GB internal memory or SD/MMC/MS Pro card.

Formats supported by V10 include JPEG, ASF, AVI, and MPEG-4. (more…)

AMD Introduces PUMA Processors to Compete with Intel

5 years ago I couldn’t picture myself using an overpriced (in my opinion), underpowered laptop, but now I couldn’t imagine how life would be without my laptop. In the notebook market the undisputed king of the jungle is Intel. Intel is about to get a challenge from its eternal rival, AMD who is releasing their newest next-generation mobile platform dubbed PUMA. This new platform is due out in 2008. In early 2009 AMD will spin out the new “Fusion” integrated processor that combines the CPU and GPU onto a single 45nm die.

The combo-chip is set to be used in almost every gadget, from UMPCs to widescreen notebooks, as well as other consumer electronic devices.

The 42″ Linux Powered Asus Eee TV Spotted at Computex?

In January Asus announced the upcoming release of a 42″ LCD Panel running Linux. Very little information has been released since then. The TV you see above was spotted nonchalantly blending in at Computex.

None of the specs have been released yet, and no one has confirmed that this is indeed the Eee TV from Asus. In the pictures, you can see USB ports and a LAN port among other things. (more…)

Foxconn’s Projector Re-defines the Term Small Projector

You have seen the invasion of mini notebooks from virtually every vendor, but how about this gadget? A new pico projector from Foxconn to complement your small computers.

The Foxconn PD-W1001 only weighs around 65 grams with dimensions of 55mm x 46mm x 26mm. That is smaller than a pencil box. No sir, the hand in the picture is not that of a giant. It’s just the hand of an average person. (more…)

The KeyShark: For When You Just Can’t Remember

Don’t remember what you were doing 5 minutes ago? If the keyshark is plugged into your keyboard you can go back and see. The mat black case looks imposing but the devise is as easy as falling off a log. It goes between your keyboard and your computer and it records every keystroke you make.

The keyshark holds more than a year of information, so get two or three if you have memory like mine! To get that info back, just bring up the Keyshark menu and you can erase, view, and search data, change password or disable it.

Think of the possibilities! You can find out what the kids are doing when you aren’t there. Because it keeps the data even in the event of a power outage, it can retrieve that Great American Novel you typed and forgot to save. (more…)

VLC Media Player Comes to the iPhone and iPod Touch

If there is one thing I hate about proprietary software, it’s the hoops it makes you jump through to play your own media.

If it’s not in the right format, you might be locked in to buying a new copy of something you already own. But for iPhone/iPod Touch users there’s a new way you can watch your shows without all the time consuming hassle of converting the files to the right format.

ZodTTD has brought the VideoLan player, aka VLC Media Player to the iPhone/iPod Touch. It’s the open source king of media players and it’s quite possibly the premiere candidate for best jailbreak app ever.
