The world watched in anticipation today as Steve Jobs unveiled the all new iPhone 3G at Apple’s annual World Wide Developer’s Conference (WWDC). Let’s take a look at some of the features that make this model a bit more attractive than the current version.
As the name suggests, the new iPhone 3G now works on 3G enabled cellular networks, which allows for more reliable data transfers at much greater speeds. The speed boost will be most noticeable when surfing webpages, viewing large email attachments, and watching streaming video.
Another much needed hardware addition is integrated GPS functionality. It is now possible to accurately find your location, get directions and see traffic updates in real time. (more…)
The Samsung i900 Omnia is powered by Windows Mobile 6.1 and has a 3.2-inch display that takes up most of the front panel of the phone. It comes with Samsung’s own TouchWiz user interface and the screen has a resolution of 240 by 400 pixels (Wide QVGA).
The quad-band (850/900/1800/1900MHz) phone will operate on both WCDMA and GSM and supports 7.2Mbps HSDPA and EDGE data networking.
The phone will come in both 8Gb and 16Gb versions and supports a whole range of video standards including DivX, XviD, H.263, H.264, Windows Media Video and MP4.
The camera has 5 megapixel resolution and other features include GPS (Global Positioning System), Bluetooth, a USB port and FM radio. (more…)

Sling has been working on an iPhone version of their Slingbox for mobile phones for some time now. Slingbox allows you to watch your home TV programming while you are away from home. The new Sling for the Apple iPhone will allow you to watch your home TV from your iPhone or iPod touch, and allow you to control your Slingbox using the touchscreen UI. (more…)

The new Sanyo Xacti HD1010 will feature improved image processing and better stabilization, new “face chaser” for both still images and videos, and new 300FPS slow-motion mode for web purposes. Many people are calling it the iPhone killer, but RIM is calling it the BlackBerry Thunder. This new touchscreen phone is RIM’s answer to the iPhone.
When we previously covered this phone, their were no actualy photos of it available. Their was only an artist rendition.

Sony and HP are working together to bring sub $100 Blu-ray drives for desktops to stores by Christmas 2008. This may seem like a pretty long time to wait for that all important price drop, but considering the current prices for a Blu-ray drive this is great!
Consider how important this step is to getting Universal Blu-ray adopted by the general public. After Toshiba threw in the towel on HD DVD, Blu-ray is becoming more and more popular every day. (more…)
Photos of the next gen iPhone were leaked today. There are some interesting choices made by Apple and many of our speculations were spot on. Microsoft Exchange is happening, it is 3G, and it is now available in Red in support of the Product Red Aids Campaign. Stereo speakers are now in back and Apple’s iChat AV has a prominent place in front.
The images come from Apple or AT&T promotional material and this is what the part about iChat said:
“Video just became a little more fun. Start a real time video chat with other AT&T subscribers via 3G networking, or with iChat buddies via WiFi. The video calling revolution has begun.”

Asus has really outdone themselves this time. The new clam shells look so much sleeker and comes in various flavors sporting different graphic-designs on their covers. But thats not even the main highlight. The new mini-laptops of course are using Intel’s Atom processor and have 3 operational modes: Power Saving, High Performance and Super Hi Performance. Thats a runtime of 3.5 to 7.8 hours!
Battery life is dependent on the model of Eee PC. For instance the 1000H model utilizes an 80GB hard disk, which gives it the shortest battery life of 3.2 to 7 hours depending on the power-mode. The 901 model has the longest endurance of 4.2 to 7.8 hours owed to its smaller 8.9″ screen and 12GB SSD. All these models feature 6 cell batteries. (more…)

These are believed to be the first hands on pictures of the Motorola MotoZine ZN5 5 Megapixel camera phone which features a Kodak lens. In case you are looking for the stats:
The phone features a 320 x 240 resolution, a 5 Megapixel camera, 2.5G GSM, GPRS, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR and a morphing ROKR style keypad. It is running the Montavista Linux 2.6.1 OS.
