Ah, yes, Chinavasion–maker of all that is weird and wonderful. They’ve outdone themselves this time. Their new Tri-Band GSM/GPRS touchscreen cell phone has something every gadgeteer dreams of: a built in projector!
The tri-band means it can be used with more providers than most phones. It can accept three different bandwidths: 900MHz, 1800MHz, 1900MHz. Those three are used by over 100 countries world wide. It has a touchscreen, WAP, bluetooth and a battery that gives you extra long talk time between charges. It even has an open SIM card slot.
The cell phone has a 1.3 megapixel digital camera, image view, a video recorder and a rich media environment messaging system. The internal 1GB micro SD card gives you plenty of room to listen to music, take pictures and make movies. (more…)
This bulletproof bed is said to provide the ultimate in protection, communication and entertainment. It is called the Quantum Sleeper. This is similar to a safe-room except it is a bed so you don’t have to get out of bed and hope to make it to bed in case of an emergency.
The bed can protect from bio-chemical attacks, kidnapping and natural disasters (such as tornados, hurricanes, earthquakes and floods).
You can have it made with your choice of CD players, DVD players, a PC, a microwave and a refrigerator. For communication you can choose from cell phones, a CB radio or short-wave radios. (more…)
Sure, go ahead and tell ‘em it’s a point and shoot camera. No lie there. Sony’s Cybershot DSC-T500 is a 10.1 Megapixel point-and-shoot camera, it just records hi-def movies too. In fact, it records MPEG4 AVC/H.264 movies and it is capable of capturing them at 30 frames/second. Now that’s a hidden camera! While the video camera is shooting 720p HD video, you can get still photos of the scene without a single interruption.
The HDMI files turn out small and crystal clear. The resolution is three times higher than that of regular movies. The camera can automatically identify a smile and show it to you so that you can get that great shot. (more…)

It looks like it is about as thick as four credit cards stacked one on top of the other, but what it is in reality is the first 120GB 1.8″ USB hard drive. It is known as the SpinPoint N2 from Samsung. It’s other stats are impressive also. At 1.4W and only 300mA it still can spin at an impressive 4200-rpm. That puts its power consumption at just a quarter of the power consumption of a 2.5″ drive.
It performs like a high end drive with it’s fast read and write speeds of 27MB/s and 23MB/s. (more…)

Microsoft is set to announce a brand new technology for the mouse. The Hardware Unit from Microsoft will unveil some new products on September 9, and they’ve been teasing us with posters like the one shown above.
Apparently the new technology they’re introducing is called “Blue Track” and is “based on a blue LED combined with a wide-angle lens that’s supposed to work on more surfaces than laser and optical.” (more…)

Perhaps we should be saying “how you’ve shrunk” when we are talking about the price of 64GB flash drives. Reports last May had the 64GB USB 2.0 Flash Drive Pro 2 Series priced at a whopping $5,000 USD. Today, VanDerLed brings the same 64GB in a USB stick that is slimmer, trimmer, and way, way less expensive! How much for the new leather wrapped MeMe 64GB stick? Just a slim $111.
I would have hated to be one of the early birds this time around who spent $5,000 for a memory stick now worth a very small fraction of the original price. (more…)

I finally bit the bullet and bought a wireless keyboard and track ball. I don’t usually like them wireless because they suck battery life down like water, but I like the tangle of wires in the back of my computer even less. Kensington now has a solution that knocks my socks off.
It’s called the Kensington Wireless USB Docking Station and here is how it works. The Docking Station gets plugged into the wall to make it a powered USB hub. Grab all you USB cables and plug them in to the 5 ports. Now take your monitor and USB printer and plug them in as well.
You are now the happy owner of a clean sleek cable free machine without losing any of the great tools that come with USB. (more…)

These recently leaked pictures are of the Asus N10 – AsusTek’s next generation Eee PC after the 901 and 1000 models. The new design appears to be well-constructed and made mostly of high quality plastic that has a glossy finish.
The N10 features the same Intel Atom N270 processor as the previous Eee PCs, thus we can expect equal or better battery life. However, the most major improvement in this model is the 10.2inch display. From the photos, we can see that Asus has removed the anti-glare filter and instead opted for a glossy coating to be applied. The anti-glare filter was a frequent complaint of Eee PC users as it often made the screen blurry or “hazy”. (more…)
Nokia is planning to change the way we think of mobile phones. Their new phone will come in the form of a device that will roll up and mimic a bracelet, bend over and clip to your pocket, wake you up in the morning, form to fit your face when you use it as a phone and more. So far Nokia’s calling this cell phone a personal mobile communication device. To me it looks like a revolution in the way you look at a gadget.
It uses a liquid battery, speech recognition, and a flexible touch screen. The touch sensitive body cover lets it understand and adjust to the actions you take. Sometimes the sensitivity
is positively eerie! When the phone rings, the Nokia 888 forms itself into the shape of a phone. You can personalize these forms and record them. So it fits you the best and makes your brother crazy. It’s like the feeling of having an electronic pet, or maybe a butler. As it senses your moves, it understands what you want, and responds to you in the way you love. It learns you, and learns to fit you better.
Also e-motions lets you send forms to the other Nokia 888 users and it. It could be the shape of a heart or a small dance. This way he can tell you he loves you without words.
