Mitsubishi’s Ultra Bright HD Projector Includes A Theft Deterrent

Not everyone may likeĀ  bright sunlight, but one thing is for sure, gadget geeks always like bright displays. Mitsubishi seems to understand that fact too well, and they have introduced the FL7000U, their first ultra bright 1080p HD projector for commercial, home theater and educational installations during infoComm08 in Las Vegas.

How bright is it? The HD projector can blast 5000 lumens with a 1000:1 contrast ratio, and uses three 1.1-inch 3LCD inorganic panels. The specifications make it ideal to be used in larger home theaters or commercial venues such as sports bars, restaurants or hotel conference rooms, school auditoriums and corporate boardrooms that require full high definition(1920 x 1080 pixels) for HD video. JVC Releases Ultra-Thin, Light Weight LCD TVs

If you have ever moved or carried an LCD TV by yourself (which is not a good idea, by the way) then you must know that it weighs more than it looks. Maybe that is what inspired JVC to spin out their ultra thin LCD display.

It is the world’s thinnest LCD TV with integrated tuners and the biggest one is only 74mm deep. It’s a great achievement considering that the models will come in 42 and 46 inch variants. It tips the scales at just 12 kg - light enough to be easily moved around the bed and living room.

It will support FULL HD at a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. (more…)

15 Dazzling Multi Monitor Setups You Wish You Were Viewing This With [Pics]

If you have ever used a computer that had more than one monitor or a computer with a very big monitor attached to it, it’s hard to go back to using just one little monitor.

Now imagine using one of the huge gigantic multi monitor setups below. Going back to even two or three monitors would feel extremely small in comparison.

  1. Uber L33t Quake 3 Pro that Pwns N00bs

Another creation from the Giga Pixel Lab. Welcome to scary twenty-four monitor Quake 3! The system is driven by 12 Linux servers using Distributed Multihead X and Chromium software. We’re betting that its pretty easy to see the enemy coming in this one.

  2. Fifty 21″ Monitor Display Solution from GigaPixel Labs

This massive wall of fifty 21″ displays is from the Giga Pixel Lab at Virginia Tech. Each display is touch capable, thus the shiny appearance. 25 Shuttle PCs are used as a cluster to drive this massive display, with a total resolution of 65,536,000 pixels (65.5 Mega Pixels). We’re not entirely sure what anyone would do with such a monster, but it sure is a good way to ask for an increase on your research grant (cough!).

  3. Twelve 30″ Monitors for the Home Office

Tired of that blank wall in front of your desk? Why not mount twelve 30inch Dell monitors to it, then whenever you’re feeling bored you could surf the web on 4 monitors whilst you use the rest as an aquarium screen saver to relax…

The HP DreamColor Can Display 1 Billion Colors

Most monitors can display millions of colors, but the 24″ widescreen HP DreamColor LP2480zx monitor can display a billion colors (Yes 1,000,000,000). It is a LED backlit display with 30bit imaging capabilities that can display over 64 times as much color as an LCD display. The technology behind HP DreamColor was designed in collaboration with DreamWorks SKG. (more…)

Watch Out for This Watch Phone from Chinavision

Have we hit our limit? This new watch has so many bells and whistles it may be too heavy to wear. Let’s start with the phone. The dialing is done via the keypad on the back lit wrist strap. Talking is either straight audio with a built-in mike, or via a bluetooth earpiece also provided. Talk time is up to 150 min. Standby is as much as 100 hours!

It has a 1.3-inch display and it’s a touch screen. Right. I guess that means you can only touch the screen because you couldn’t actually manipulate something in that small space! There is a mini stylus handy that could help when using your organizer or one of the several games. It hides away on the watch so you can keep track of it. There is an MP3 player to listen to tunes wirelessly. Supported formats include: MP3, WMA, WAV & AMR. (more…)

The 42″ Linux Powered Asus Eee TV Spotted at Computex?

In January Asus announced the upcoming release of a 42″ LCD Panel running Linux. Very little information has been released since then. The TV you see above was spotted nonchalantly blending in at Computex.

None of the specs have been released yet, and no one has confirmed that this is indeed the Eee TV from Asus. In the pictures, you can see USB ports and a LAN port among other things. (more…)
