Gotta hand it to ASUS, they really know how to make some great products. Not only do they manufacture much of Apple’s iconic hardware, but they recently hit a home run with the Eee PC.
Now they are back again and looking to be a bit more eco-friendly with their bamboo laptop.
The company recently went into production with the laptop and has plans to manufacture them on the bodies of the 11 inch ASUS S6 and the 12 inch ASUS U6, which were last seen dressed in distinguished leather. Rumor has it that it’s going to be built for modularity and easy upgradeablity, while using environmentally sound manufacturing techniques.
No official specs have been released yet, but the laptop is expected to retail for around $1,700.

Is this HP’s new Eee PC killer?

The Mini-Note PC from HP is available with a range of VIA Processors, an 8.9″ Display (with a native resolution of 1280 x 786) and you can choose between Vista or Linux for your operating system.
The keyboard is almost full-size (92% of a full size keyboard) so it should be quite good for typing. Due to the resolution of the screen, it is easier to view websites without having to scroll as much as you do on an Eee PC 701 for example. (more…)
The new Eee PC 900 is the newest ultramobile computer from ASUS. It features an 8.9″ screen, 1GB of DDR RAM and 20GB of storage space. You can choose between either Linux or Windows XP pre-installed.
