Now their is a camera that can’t be snuck up on! Olympus Japan announced the development of a 360° lens and camera. Sure it’s just a prototype now, but think of the possibilities! A self portrait no matter where you point. Always getting a picture of the guy who hates to get his picture taken.
Just like Ford and his assembly line, this 360° lense is a world first. And the company has only been working on it for a year. The camera covers a vertical angle of 180° now, while the old version only covered 45°. A special kind of glass is used for the lens, which has a diameter of 3cm.
All shenanigans aside, the camera is expected to be used for surveillance and at this time we don’t even know when. Olympus hasn’t said when the camera will be in production. (more…)
High def movies are great inventions, but they’re hard to stick in a scrap book. Well, Sony–the genie of the video world–has produced a compact HD video capture camera that will do the hard part for you. The magic is smile shutter and face detection and it works like this: As you record the video with your HDR-CX12 Memory Stick® Handycam®, it senses when anyone smiles and automatically takes a 10-Megapixel photo! It features child and adult prioritization so you can capture photos when your intended subject group smiles, and can even detect and capture a smile while in standby mode – just aim the camcorder and you’ll capture smiling moments. There are two firsts for the Sony Ericsson C905. It’s the first Cyber-shot slider phone and the first Sony Ericsson with an 8.1 Megapixel camera. I don’t know how good the photo results are or whether it can rival a dedicated digital camera or not.
With 8.1 Megapixels, you can print on up to A3 size paper.
The specs are pretty impressive. It comes with face detection auto-focus, smart contrast, an image stabilizer, geo-tagging, and a Xenon flash (just like a digital camera). Displaying photos on the TV is pretty easy with Wi-Fi (DLNA) or through the TV-Out Cable.

Have we hit our limit? This new watch has so many bells and whistles it may be too heavy to wear. Let’s start with the phone. The dialing is done via the keypad on the back lit wrist strap. Talking is either straight audio with a built-in mike, or via a bluetooth earpiece also provided. Talk time is up to 150 min. Standby is as much as 100 hours!
It has a 1.3-inch display and it’s a touch screen. Right. I guess that means you can only touch the screen because you couldn’t actually manipulate something in that small space! There is a mini stylus handy that could help when using your organizer or one of the several games. It hides away on the watch so you can keep track of it. There is an MP3 player to listen to tunes wirelessly. Supported formats include: MP3, WMA, WAV & AMR. (more…)

You’re set to buy UMPCs but don’t really like the current crop? Well, if you’re patient enough, you can get your hands on this fine UMPC from Dell.
No official name has been announced yet. For the moment, it’s being called the “mini-Inspiron”.
No word about the processor, memory, the OS or the pricing. However I think it will be sold in the range of ASUS Eee PC’s pricing. It will have three USB ports, a muti card reader, VGA out, and Ethernet.
It comes in your choice of two colors.
