Indeed it’s true. You can throw away your pair of 3-D glasses thanks to Philips new 52″ 3D Display. This new line uses Philips’ WOWvx technology to allow 3D viewing without the need for glasses. This piece of eye candy is specifically designed for digital signage, pro-Av and entertainment applications. But don’t leave now to your nearest Best Buy, this hot item won’t be available until later this year.
The 52-inch auto-stereoscopic 3D Display is based on a full HD (1920×1080) LCD panel. It will offer full brightness (700 cd/m2), full contrast (2000:1), and a response time of 8 ms. The WOWvx technology uses the 2D-plus-Depth format, which gives additional occlusion information for a real 3D ‘look around’ effect. (more…)

Plastics are really bad for the environment, and with the millions of gadgets disposed of each year, plastic cases are really going to fill up landfills for decades. Bamboo on the otherhand is a sturdy, biodegradable material that is produced rapidly by the fast-growing bamboo plant. Whilst we can recycle the computer’s innards, a bamboo casing would allow us to recycle the casing as well! My only gripe?: Doesn’t that make the notebook heavier?

Their has been some more breaking information about the new features in the upcoming 3G iPhone from Apple.
I remember when I got my iPhone the first week it came out, the download speeds used to be a lot faster when I was browsing the web or using YouTube. Within a few weeks after that, their was noticeable difference in speed. BoyGeniusReport noted that prior to the rush of iPhones, the Edge network was getting around 200-250Kbps. I think anyone who has an iPhone now can tell you it is a lot slower than that today. That’s where 3G comes in.
The new 3G iPhone offers a drastic improvement on download speeds, possibly up to 1500Kbps.

A dutch website has posted photos online of what is supposedly the next generation 3G iPhone. The phone has a white finish in back, with a more curved design. The added curves are reportedly to accommodate the larger battery required to support the upcoming 3G functionality.
The pictures only give us some details about what to anticipate for the exterior of the phone. Not much has been confirmed by Apple about the next generation iPhone, but their are some features which are really likely to be included. (more…)

One of the sorely desired features the original iPhone failed to capitalize on was 3G network support. However, all that is rumored to change after WWDC when Apple is expected to unveil the newest iteration of their iPhone. Apple’s World Wide Developer Conference (WWDC) kicks off in just under a month, and big things are expected from Apple. Rumors about the second gen iPhone have been flying, but another big rumor concerns the likelihood of the arrival of a new MacBook Pro.
The New Macbook Pro?
Since 2001, the overall design of the MacBook Pro has not changed. Rumors of new aluminum cases being manufactured in Taiwan first sparked the rumor, but many are speculating that the new case will allow for a huge multi touch trackpad, a new chiclet-style keyboard, and an almost bezel-less screen, drastically thinning the size of the laptop. Touchscreen phones are the new “in” device when it comes to mobile phones and it seems that 2008 will be the year when the mobile phone manufacturers really ramp up the releases of these devices to meet consumer demand for smarter, more advanced touchscreen phones.
Here are 15 of the hottest touch screen phones for this year.
- HTC Touch Diamond:
The HTC Touch Diamond is the successor to the Touch Cruise. It will run Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional, with a Qualcomm 528MHz MSM 7201A processor and 256MB ROM/192MB of RAM.
It has a 2.8″ VGA screen, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, eGPS (), a 3.1 Megapixel camera with flash and a forward facing camera. It has a Samsung MoviNAND for 4GB of internal flash storage.
The Touch Diamond also has an orientation sensor that automatically switches the phone output according to the orientation of the phone. The dimensions of the phone are 51 x 99 x 10.7mm.
- Apple iPhone Second Gen:
Not a lot of confirmed information out there about the new iPhone.
There is plenty of unconfirmed information though:
It will be similar in size to the current iPhone.
It will also include 3G, GPS, a glossy black casing, chrome volume buttons and more rounded edges due to less metal used in the case.
These have not been confirmed by Apple yet, but I am pretty sure they will be with time.
- LG Secret:
It sports a 5 megapixel camera and is only 11.8mm thick, making it the slimmest phone with a 5 megapixel camera currently on the market.
It is made from carbon fiber and the LCD screen is protected by tempered glass. The touch screen buttons respond to commands with a luminous blue light. The camera is capable of capturing video at 120FPS and DivX certified recording. It comes pre-loaded with Google Package that enables the user to check their Gmail, use Google Maps and watch YouTube videos. It can also open Microsoft documents and it will have 100MB of onboard memory which can be expanded with a microSD card. The screen auto-rotates like the iPhone. It has Voice Clarity software that ensures that sound is always clear no matter what the surroundings are. It measures 102.8 x 50.8 x 11.8 mm.
- LG Prada II:
It features 3G with 7.2Mbps HSDPA connectivity, a QWERTY keyboard, a 3″ WQVGA 400×240 px TFT touchscreen and a 5 megapixel camera.
It also has a front facing camera for video calls, Wi-Fi b/g connectivity, USB 2.0, Bluetooth, Full HTML browsing, FM-Radio, TV-out and a microSDHC memory slot (up to 8GB).
The Prada fashion designers will be closely involved in making the custom themes, touch UI, built-in ringtones and cellphone accessories for the Prada II.
This phone truly is fully loaded.
- Samsung Instinct:
This 3G Samsung is the first Sprint device to have EV-DO Rev support. It features a 2 Megapixel camera, stereo bluetooth, audible caller ID, voice dialing commands and a full HTML web browser.
It also has a media player that displays album art, Sprint Radio and Sprint TV support, integrated Microsoft Live Search and GPS.
It supports personal and corporate email access, visual voicemail and has a 262K color 3.1 inch screen with 2GB of memory.
It measures in at 116 x 55.1 x 12.4 mm and weighs 124.7 grams. (more…)
