Well, the holiday season is upon us once again, and that means it’s time to get back into the consumer spirit. We must prepare for the holidays and finish all of our gift shopping so that we can celebrate the only way we know how: by spending too much cash.
In the past few years, the cell phone has become the most widely used personal item, ever. Young and old alike, consumers are crazy for the latest and greatest phones on the market. Below is a listing of the top 25 currently available cell phones that would make the best gifts.

- Samsung Instinct

The Instinct is a touch screen smart phone from Sprint, and is actually one of the finer products in their line up. It has GPS and a combined digital camera/digital player/FM radio. Price ranges from $129.99 to $599.99.
- T-Mobile G1

The infamous Google phone, the T-Mobile G1 features the Android platform and is fully integrated with most Google services. Also has a full QWERTY keyboard, 3G support, Wi-Fi, GPS, and Bluetooth. Suggested retail is $399.99.

If you keep up with all the important tech news like I do, you probably share my sentiment that sometimes it seems like a lot of the cool contraptions I can think of have already been thought of. That’s why it’s a good thing that innovation sometimes comes in the form of getting two established pieces of technological goodness to work with each other.
In that spirit, the DVR provider TiVo has recently launched the newest addition to its already robust suite of on-the-go functionality known as TiVo Anywhere: an open beta of the TiVo app for the Apple iPhone. TiVo subscribers will be able to look at programming schedules and set their home boxes to record shows from anywhere they have data service on their iPhone’s.
The iPhone app is nearing completion, but it’s not TiVo’s first effort of its kind by any stretch of the imagination. TiVo boasts an absolute slew of recently-released and shortly-upcoming integrations with other services like (more…)
If you like to search Google with your iPhone but are feeling rather lazy at this time of year, then Google has the answer with their new ‘voice recognition search’ application for Google Mobile.
It’s easy to use, just speak into your iPhone and ask it a question - the results are then sent back to you via ‘Google’s voice search’ in a matter of seconds. It also incorporates the geo-locating element of the iPhone, allowing you ask location specific questions. (more…)

Check out new concept design for an Apple mp3 player. It is called the iBangle and it is unique as well as ground breaking. It’s shares a few similarities with the iPod Shuffle like no screen and it has some other really cool features.
First of all, you will never drop the iBangle. You see that inner blue band? Just press the blue button on the side and it fills up with air, expanding to fit snugly on your wrist. Hit the blue button again and it will release the air.
Ear buds with the annoying cords won’t be found here, as the audio is transmitted via wireless ear buds. There’s a multi-touch track pad for easy navigation. (more…)

It’s that time of the year when Apple updates their MacBooks. They now use a new manufacturing technique that allows them to create the casing from one chunk of aluminium. The result? A slimmer, yet stronger casing profile, and better-looking laptops.
The multitouch trackpad is now made from glass, and the 13.3 inch LCD now uses an LED backlight that’s brighter and better than the previous one. (more…)

Is Apple getting ready to cash in on the newest Netbook craze? Rumors have been flying all day about Apple getting ready to release a new, tiny notebook - their first sub-$1000 model ever!
This rumor comes from multiple sources, citing that Apple retail stores have received shipping information and a 12 point price list, highlighting the new model. Former price lists only contained 8 price points. Another factor that may have influenced this decision? People sorely miss the 12 inch Macbook. Apple had their annual iPod refresh event today and went all out on iPods. They introduced a new iPod Touch, along with an iPod Nano which goes back to the vertical form factor of the second generation. This new gadget rocks a bigger screen, an accelerometer (just like the iPhone’s) and a Genius function (which lets you arrange your songs on the go based on how the songs blend together).

Apple had their annual fall event today and they announced a bunch of new products.

This MP3 player is so small that people might think you are crazy when they see you jamming to headphones that don’t appear to be plugged into anything.
- The Worlds Smallest Color TV Screen

Usually a TV screen this small is not a good thing, but this TV screen from was developed to be used in a pair of TV glasses. The screen is about half the size of a postage stamp, and it is good for upclose viewing inside a pair of glasses.
- The Xun Chi 138, The World’s Smallest Camera Phone

This is the world’s smallest cell phone. It has a 1.3 megapixel camera, a touch screen with hand writing recognition, an mp3 player and GPRS capabilities. It weighs just 55grams and measures 2.64 inches in length.
- The Space Cube is The World’s Smallest Computer

This tiny computer by Shimafuji has a 300Mhz processor, a 1GB CompactFlash card for storage and 64Mb of DDR SDRAM. It also has a USB port, an Ethernet port, VGA output and jacks for headphones or speakers.
