Acer Announces Worlds First Google Android Powered Netbook

Android Powered Acer

In the the quest for netbook relevancy and superiority, Acer has always been in the tech news talking about the integration of Android to run on netbooks. Actually, the whole netbook manufacturing industry is showing good interest with using Android.

Now, the first netbook maker to break news about the use of Android into its netbooks is Acer. This was announced by Acer’s global president for IT products, Jim Wong. He mentioned that the company is targeting the Q3-09 to be the released date. This means that by October of this year, these Acer Android-based netbooks will be out in the market for tech lovers and early adopters.

However, the announcement seemed more of a statement of intention rather than that of a full certainty from Acer. But the sure thing is that netbooks running on Android are expected to be cheaper than their Windows counterparts. The question now remains is how Acer will be able to fully integrate Android into the netbook platform and if consumers will be willing to use Android somewhere other than on their smartphones.
