The Amazon Kindle Grows a Little Wider
With the normal Kindle proving to be wildly successful, Amazon has decided to expand their lineup. Wednesday, Amazon is planning on announcing the new larger Kindle, which will be aimed at textbook makers and newspapers. This could revolutionize the textbook scene on college campuses, and alleviate some back pains among college goers. However, used textbook resellers will not be happy with the announcement of digitized textbooks. This would significantly eat into the resale market for textbooks.
The larger kindle is also slated to have a more functional web browser.
However, rumors have been swirling that Apple could be releasing an all-in-one tablet style notebook which would put the Kindle out of work, if it has the same popularity as the iPhone. The larger Kindle would also need to add some color to the display, this would help with magazine spreads, and color diagrams in textbooks. At any rate the larger Kindle is sure to be a hit, until competition proves otherwise.
