Sony’s Blu-ray Home Theater Reinvents Speaker Technology
Sony’s BDV-IT1000 5.1 Blu-ray home theater system is definitely a sight to behold. The entire set up is pretty impressive in both technology and aesthetics, but the real concern lies with the speakers.
Sony has created a fairly innovative new speaker system specifically for the BDV-IT1000, which consists of a vertical rod no thicker than a finger. Codenamed “Pocky” after the popular Japanese pretzel stick snack, the speakers use a newly developed driver that measures a mere 16mm wide, 118mm tall, and 25mm deep.
