Public ePaper Displays Being Tested in Tokyo

The latest in electronic paper technology is hitting the streets of Tokyo, as the Japanese Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications will be posting e-paper signage in and around Toshima Life and Industry Plaza. A wireless network in the area will update the e-paper displays with relevant information for disaster prevention.

There are two signs, one measuring more than three meters across with a 240×768 resolution, and one measuring 60×40 centimeters with a 144×96 resolution. Once the testing of the displays is completed the resultant information should give us some idea of how successful they would be on the public market.
