Second Generation iPod Touch Announced!

The Second Generation

Apple had their annual fall event today and they announced a bunch of new products.

One of them was the new iPod Touch which had its design completely revamped. Featuring a polished stainless steel back, volume controls, the App Store and a very nice battery life, the new iPod Touch is really trying hard to be the best player out there.

With the introduction of the new firmware, current iPod Touch owners can upgrade for $10 if you own the first generation firmware (1.x) or for free if you have already upgraded to 2.0.

The new iPod Touch starts at $229 for an 8GB model and it is available right now.

  • I don't get it that people buy iPods anymore when the iPhone is less expensive. I know there is no monthly fee for a iPod, but don't the iPod buyers have cell phones anyway?
