Introducing the LaCie USB Speakers
Looking like something made out of PVC piping, the new USB speakers from LaCie are still worth your inspection. Regardless of appearance, these are high quality digital audio speakers. They have 16-bit signal processing and a frequency range of 90Hz – 20kHz. They deliver two watts of total power, with 1 watt per channel. They’re also compact and hassle free with the USB cable fitting nicely in to the base of each speaker.
For once when we say hassle free, we actually mean hassle free! No drivers needed for these guys. Truly plug and play for both Mac and PC.
The speakers can be directly connected to an iPod or other MP3 device if you get the additional power adapter. The design is similar to the FireWire version of these speaker. They’ve been awarded numerous Seals of Quality in Design in both 2007 and 2008.
These award winning speakers are available world wide, and the suggested retail price of $59.99 is down a bit from the (still buyable) FireWire Speakers.
