The New MacBook Pro: Rumor or Reality?

This supposedly leaked image above depicts what could be the next generation of MacBook Pros.  The details are scant, save that this year the MacBook Pro is a little bit lighter, weighing in at 5.1 lbs instead of the current 5.4. 802.11n is also a welcome addition.

Recent Apple-related speculation also revolves around the possibility of an iTunes subscription-based service for 129.99 a year.  Users would gain unlimited access to half of the iTunes library.  However, many have noted that this idea has been thrown around since 2005.  If it were to happen, it would easily blow many other subscription-based services out of the water just by virtue of price alone.

  • where did you find this image? was it from a reliable source? I've been waiting for a refresh of the Macbook Pro line for a while now, and hopefully we'll see something on the 8th of september when they announce the new iPod's, but I'm just holding my breath really...

    This looks more like a 13" than a 15" or 17" - I wonder if the larger models will look much different to this.
