Samsung’s Newest Laptops Feature the New Intel Montevina Processors
After Penryn, Intel introduced the Montevina line of processors. Samsung apparently is invited to the party, spinning out no less that four new laptops, two of which are powered by the newest Intel processor.
For the desktop replacement category, the Samsung R710 sports a 17-inch screen, a 2.53Ghz P9500 Core 2 Duo and a 512MB NVidia GeForce 9600M GT graphics card and a Blu-Ray drive. It is complete with colorful casing, similar to the new Samsung LCDs.
For the less performance hungry, the new Aura R510 is equipped with a 15.4-inch screen, a 2.53GHz T9400 Core 2 Duo on Montevina’s 1066MHz bus, integrated X4500 graphics, 4GB of RAM, a dual-layer burner and a 320GB drive. All of which is packed into a five pound package.
For the ultra portable territory, the Eclipse Q210 (12 inch) and Q310 (13.3 inch) will satisfy your thirst for mobile computing. Both models feature NVIDIA’s 256MB GeForce 9200M GS, 4GB of RAM, 320GB hard drives, and dual-layer burners in the new Eclipse case design. The difference would be in your choice of processor. Q210 uses 2.26GHz P8400 Core 2 Duo, while Q310 uses a 2.4GHz chip.
