The Samsung i8510 Primera Has an 8 Megapixel Camera and 5.1 Surround Sound!
Just barely a month after Sony Ericsson spawned its 8-megapixel camera phone, Samsung has followed that step with the i8510 Primera. This 8-megapixel camera phone comes fully equipped with an LED flash (not as good as xenon) and autofocus. In terms of video, the Primera will be able to record slow-motion QVGA videos at 120FPS, similar to the LG KU990 Viewty and KF750 Secret.
There’s even a rumor that Samsung is also manufacturing the camera sensor for Sony Ericsson’s C905, although this has not been confirmed yet.
Intending to trump Apple’s iPhone 3G and the Nokia N96, the Primera is loaded with the most up to date features available. Starting from your choice of 8GB or 16GB of storage, a microSD card slot, a 2.8-inch QVGA screen and A-GPS. Connectivity will never be an issue, since the i8510 boasts Wi-Fi, USB 2.0, and Bluetooth 2.0.
For entertainment, their is a 3.5mm audio jack that’s capable of 5.1 surround audio (the first in a mobile phone) which is supposed to improve your mobile music experience. There is no information about the headphones that can take full advantage of this feature.
The price tag is estimated to be around 780 Euros. That’s pretty comparable, if not more expensive, than the iPhone 3G.
