Samsung Goes Green: The SCH-W510 is Made Out of Corn

Samsung Electronics is shifting towards producing more environmentally friendly mobile phones. They have have announced the SCH-W510 mobile phone which features parts made from corn flour, and is due to be released later this month.

The corn is used to create the bio-plastic that is used for some of the parts including the battery cover and parts of the casing. They also use anti bacterial finish on to decrease the negative effect handling a mobile phone may have on the human body.

Samsung said that they apply eco friendly design and manufacturing practices.

They also plan to stop using PVC in mobile phone chargers and headsets in exchange for green materials like bio-plastic.
