The Sony HT-IS100: Little Speakers That Sound Big

These tiny sweeties–the HT-IS100 Bravia Theater Micro speakers–not the strawberries, have been around a while but we think they may have been overlooked because their that small.

While the system features small speakers, it packs all the power of conventional home theater systems with 450 watts of total system power (satellite speakers 50W x 5, plus 2-way subwoofer 100W x 2).

The system is specially tuned to deliver a natural sound field that takes the focus off the subwoofer while supplementing mid range and lower frequencies.

The system, includes a subwoofer with integrated 32-bit S-MasterĀ® digital amplifier. The Sony HT-IS100 surround system became available in July 2007 for about $700.

you know what I love about manufacturers postings of products so much,

    That was sarcastic,)

They never tell you suggested retail $ anymore,
nor do they save you the time and trouble of looking up the best price.

Now I have to do research of my own,
    which means,
if I find someone else's product that meets the same specs and has that item at a lower price than anyone the MANUFACTURER would have recommended as a good place to get it,
keeping in mind that the internet gives you a whole new dimension in mail order and shipping let alone sales tax,
I'm going to buy something from a competitor. Hmmmm.
