Details Released About the Philips X800 Touchscreen Phone

Some new photos and details have been released about the upcoming Philips X800 touchscreen phone. The phone has a 2.9-inch 256k color touchscreen running at 240 x 400 pixels. Check out the specs and judge for yourself.

  • Card slot: microSD (TransFlash)
  • Data: GPRS Class 10 (4+1/3+2 slots), 32 - 48 kbps
  • HSCSD: No
  • EDGE: No
  • 3G: No
  • WLAN: No
  • Bluetooth: Yes, v2.0 with A2DP
  • Infrared port: No
  • USB: Yes
  • Features Messaging: SMS, EMS, MMS
  • Browser: WAP 2.0/xHTML
  • Games: Yes
  • Colors: Black

Surprisingly you will notice that their is no 3G support, no EDGE support and no WLAN. If you take a look at the back(below), you will notice that their does not appear to be a flash either.

The phone has an elegant design, but I think they will have to step up the features if they want to compete with the next gen iPhone, the HTC Touch Diamond or other leading touchscreen phones.
