0 to 60 in 8.5 Seconds and It’s Electric

This ‘gadget’ can do 0 to 60 mph in 8.5 seconds, and 145 miles between recharges. Those are the specs of Think Global’s new concept electric car, The Ox. Think Global is a Norwegian upstart that has been selling alternative-energy vehicles in Europe for sometime now.

Electric cars had a rough start 5 years ago with the General Motors EV1. In those days, e-cars ran mostly on Nickel Cadmium batteries which suffered from the memory effect and had poor capacity. Not this baby though, it’s powered solely by Lithium Ions that can be recharged to 80% in just 1 hour.

The Th!nk Ox, is roughly the size of the Toyota Prius and runs quieter than a conventional fuel vehicle. To help preserve battery life, the Ox also has a set of solar panels embedded sleekly into its roof to power the car’s electronic systems.

No word yet on it’s price, but if Think Global’s other cars are a benchmark, it could cost between 20,000 to 30,000 dollars.
