The Predator: Acer’s New Gaming Beast

Acer is set to enter into the high-end gaming PC market with its newest PC, dubbed the Predator.

Designed with a distinct look and feel inspired by military equipment, the orange and black case sports a cover that retracts along the top of the machine and packs in enough high end features to make any power user drool.

Maxed out, the Predator comes with an Intel Core 2 Quad processor, up to 8 GB of DDR2 800/1066 MHz RAM, a Blu-Ray Optical Disc Drive, Liquid Cooling, 4 hot-awappable RAID-enabled drives, easily accessed via the Acer HDD Easyswap cage on the front of the case, and up to 3 512 MB Nvidia GeForce 9800GTX arranged in an SLI configuration.

Other Notable features include:

  • Embedded 7.1 HD audio with Optional Creative Soundblaster X-fi Platinum Sound Card
  • Multi-card reader supporting nearly every type of card imaginable
  • Optional TV Tuner Card
  • Four USB 2.0 Ports
  • 2 eSata Ports

The machine is designed to be highly customizable, with many options available at assembly. No word on pricing or release yet. Add this to a Splashtop mobo, and you’ve got a killer machine at your disposal.
