Introducing the High Performance Water Cycle
Let me introduce you to the Performance Water Cycle. Sold only at Hammacher Schlemmer, this single seat, recumbent bike has taken to the water and is breaking speed records doing it.
It’s faster than an Olympic swimmer and more powerful than a traditional paddle boat.
The bike uses an 8:1 gear ratio to drive a 15 inch, two blade propeller. That gear ratio and the right kind of muscles give it speeds up to 7 mph. It’s done by mounting it on fiberglass-covered, high-density foam core pontoons. They are buoyant, seamless, and leakproof, with precisely-balanced integration for a stable ride, even in waves as high as 3′ or water as shallow as 2′.
There are parts to assemble, but not many and it is recommended for age 9 and above. It can support a whopping 350 lbs making it a much nicer experience than the stationary bikes in gyms!
