The New Viera Series Plasma TV’s Will be Internet Enabled

Panasonic has just launched their new series of Plasmas, known as the PZ850 series. Like many other new Plasmas and LCDs the PZ850 is a full HD 16:9 widescreen plasma screen and comes in 4 different sizes: 46″, 50″, 58″ and 65″.

What’s unique about the new Viera series is that it has built in support for H.246 codec, which makes it possible for you to view your HD video directly from an SD card.

Other features include a native resolution contrast ratio of 30,000:1, a dynamic ratio of 1,000,000:1, 24p native reproduction, Digital Cinema Color Re-Mastering and Studio Reference Mode.

Although, the most impressive new feature would be that the PZ850 series will be Internet enabled and have access to the Internet enabling you to access services such as YouTube and Google’s Picasa Web Album.

This is what Bob Perry, Senior Vice President for Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company has to say about the new Viera series:

Our VIERA PZ850 series really takes connectivity and home
entertainment to a whole new level for consumers,” said Bob Perry, Senior
Vice President, Panasonic Consumer Electronics Company. “In addition to
delivering stunning, true-to-life High Definition movies and television
programming that all of our VIERA HDTV’s are famous for, our PZ850 series
also allows you to seamlessly access an unending supply of content via the
web via YouTube and Google’s Picasa Web Album websites. Another terrific
enhancement for the consumer is that when new web sites become available
they will be automatically available on the TV.
