Jobo: GPS Tagging for Your Photos

Do you ever forget where you took a specific picture while looking through your photo library?

Now you’ll know with Jobo’s Photo GPS. It attaches to your digital camera and records GPS data (aka geo-tagging) while you shoot. Jobo is a German based manufacturer that’s been around since the 1920′s and is mostly known for their darkroom equipment and photo processing machines.

Jobo takes a leap forward with this innovative new GPS device. It can tell you all this about a photo:

Here’s how it works:

  • Jobo attaches to your camera’s flash hot-shoe
  • Import photos & GPS data to your computer
  • The online server generates exact, detailed location data
  • Images and GPS data are synchronized and translated into Geo information (country, city, etc.)

Once uploaded to your library you can search by location without the need to tag each image. If you shoot in RAW format the software creates and stores an XML file which can be read using Apple Aperture or Adobe Lightroom software. Jobo works with both Mac and PC.

It will be available mid 2008 for $159. For more information visit Jobo.
