Nokia’s N810 Tablets Get Qt and they Can Run Ubuntu
According to this story on Ars Technica, it seems that the ever popular Linux distro Ubuntu will be available for the new Nokia N810 Tablets.
Ubuntu can be tested using QEMU, an emulator that can be used to convert applications to a new architecture, or it can run from an SD card that is directly attached to the actual device.
In accordance with Nokia’s acquisition of Trolltech, a software company who’s software can be found in applications such as Skype and Google Earth, they will also include the Qt Toolkit for developing Internet applications for both PCs and Nokia’s other devices. They are hoping that this inclusion will bring third-party Qt developers applications to the Maemo platform that is used as the primary interface on the Nokia N810.
